Mel Faxon (she/her)

Mel Faxon has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Currently, Mel holds the position of COO & Co-Founder at Hey Mirza, a company founded in 2020. Mel is responsible for leading operations and co-managing the company.

Prior to this, Mel worked as a Lecturer, Mentor, and Entrepreneurship Coach at The Percy Hobart Fellowship. In this role, Mel taught and mentored approximately 50 fellows from the RAF and the Royal Navy, focusing on digital transformation, business principles, and agile thinking. Mel also facilitated secondments into civilian-led startups to promote innovation within the military.

Additionally, Mel is a member of the London COO Roundtable and Ops Stories, two professional networks where they actively contribute insights and knowledge.

Before joining Hey Mirza and The Percy Hobart Fellowship, Mel co-founded b. products, a sleep-focused wellness company, in 2019. The company's main objective is to create products that address sleep issues by incorporating CBD.

Prior to their entrepreneurial endeavors, Mel gained industry experience through various roles. At Amazon, Mel served as an EU Pathways Operations Manager (Intern) in 2018. In 2016-2017, Mel worked as a Portfolio Lead, Real Estate Strategy at Inspirato, where they were responsible for managing real estate assets. They had previously held roles as a Real Estate Specialist, Program Specialist, and Program Coordinator in the same company.

Furthermore, Mel has experience as an Admissions Officer at Quad Learning, Inc. from 2013 to 2014. They also worked as an Expeditor at Craigie on Main in 2012 and as a Travel Specialist at Bus2Alps from July to December 2012.

Mel Faxon completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from London Business School from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, Mel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs and French Language & Literature, with a specialization in Western Europe and the Middle East, from the University of Virginia between 2007 and 2011.
