Kari Valley is the Senior Director of State Policy and Strategy at MISO, having previously served as Managing Assistant General Counsel and Director of State Regulatory Affairs for the organization. They held the role of Assistant General Counsel at Xcel Energy from 2009 to 2015 and served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota from 2003 to 2009. Additionally, they were the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, Inc. from 2011 to 2022. Kari is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Foreign Policy and Energy Policy at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree at the University of Minnesota Law School.
