Mikko Tamura serves as the Community Manager for Asia and the Pacific at the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team since January 2021 and has been the Lead Advocate at MapBeks since December 2019. Mikko is also the Founder of Pilipinas Chubs X Chasers, a role held since August 2016. Previous experience includes working as a Map Operations Associate for Customer Support and Community Engagements at Grab from April 2019 to December 2020, and serving as a GIS Specialist at the Philippine Red Cross from August 2016 to April 2019. Early career highlights feature a position as a Mapping Specialist at the Guiuan Recovery and Sustainable Development Group in August 2014. Mikko holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of the Philippines, completed between 2005 and 2013.
