Indira Krishnan has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Indira is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Mission Bio since February 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Research Associate/Staff Scientist at Harvard Medical School from April 2019 to February 2021.
Before their role at Harvard Medical School, they worked at the same institution as a Post Doctoral Fellow from January 2016 to January 2019. Indira also gained experience at Novartis, where they served as a Liaison for Diversity and Inclusion from August 2010 to June 2012.
One of their earlier key roles was as a Fellow at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) from March 2011 to December 2011. In this role, Indira demonstrated the formulation and cell line dependence of siRNA formulated lipid nanoparticles uptake and gene knockdown in mammalian cell lines. Indira also evaluated siRNAs through in vitro target slicing assays and utilized various Protein Analytical Techniques such as LC-MS/MS, peptide mapping, GYROS, ELISA. Indira presented their data in lab meetings and RNAi mechanism meetings.
Prior to their time at Novartis, Indira Krishnan worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Immunomedics from September 1994 to March 1997. During their tenure, they successfully chimerized and humanized murine monoclonal antibody Mu-9, which was used in the diagnosis and treatment of colon cancer. Indira Krishnan has a diverse education history. Indira holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. In 2010-2011, they attended the Career Reengineering Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2012-2013, they pursued a course on Experimental Genome Science from the University of Pennsylvania through Coursera.org. In the same year, they also completed courses on Drug Discovery, Project Design, and Management at Harvard University. Additionally, in 2012, they participated in the Analytical Method Development & Validation for Therapeutic Proteins program at the Bioprocess Training Academy in Boston, MA. Indira Krishnan also obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Indira has a certification in Experimental Genome Science from Coursera, which they obtained in January 2013.
