Bruce Lai

Bruce Lai has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Bruce is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at Mission Lane since 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Tech Lead at Hack for LA from 2021 to 2022, where they mentored front-end developers and delivered the Civic Tech Index site. Bruce also worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Software Systems Engineer from 2020 to 2022 and as a Software Engineer from 2019 to 2019. Earlier in their career, they held various positions at Panasonic Avionics Corporation, including MTS4 Software Engineer from 2015 to 2019, MTS3 Software Engineer from 2011 to 2015, MTS2 Development Test Engineer from 2009 to 2011, and MTS1 Airline Systems Test Engineer from 2007 to 2009. Bruce also gained experience as a Support Technician at Tone Software Corp. from 2005 to 2007.

Bruce Lai holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Duke University. Bruce also obtained an MS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Bruce has completed a certification in Machine Learning Engineering from Springboard. Bruce has additional certifications in NLP with Python for Machine Learning Essential Training, Node.js: Microservices, Microservices Foundations, and Advanced SQL for Data Scientists, all obtained in 2020 from LinkedIn.
