Barbara Walden has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Barbara began their career as a Job Coordinator Intern at San Mateo County- Peninsula Works in 2004. Later, in 2006, they worked as a Summer Camp Teacher at City College of San Francisco. From 2002 to 2008, Walden served as a Teacher at S.R. Martin College Preparatory School. In 2008, they were a Tranter Leong Management Intern at the Association of Bay Area Governments. Barbara'smost recent work experience includes serving as an Executive Assistant at MNC Inspiring Success from 2009 to 2018, and as the Children's Services Division Associate Director since 2018. Additionally, they assumed the role of Early Care and Education Interim Program Director at MNC Inspiring Success in 2023. In these positions, Walden displayed expertise in program oversight, administrative support, and development assistance.
Barbara Walden completed their education with a MA degree in Public Administration from San Francisco State University, from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a BA degree in Environmental Studies from Hollins University between 1998 and 2002. Barbara's education began at Westmoor High School, where they graduated between 1994 and 1998.

MNC is a critically important non-profit provider of community-based, culturally sensitive, and multi-generational services focused on low-income families throughout San Francisco. MNC develops and promotes leadership skills that inspire success for youth and families to build strong, healthy, and vibrant neighborhoods through education, case management, and community-development resources. Founded as a settlement house in 1897, MNC continues to exemplify the core values of settlement house practices: welcoming environment, social justice, advocacy, community organizing, and networking. Today, MNC operates 16 MNC Campuses, five owned and nine leased through which children’s services, youth development, family resources, senior healthy aging & disabilities, and workforce development programming,
