Bill Bourdon

Bill has 20+ years of experience partnering with technology companies at every stage — from stealth to Fortune 50. He serves as chief counsel to clients in our Trust, Growth, Transportation and Logistics, and Venture Capital practices, including BigID, Google, LinkedIn, Skyryse, Scale Venture Partners and Ping Identity. When he’s not advising clients, Bill focuses on developing Mission North’s award-winning culture and experimenting with new storytelling techniques. Bill is a frequent commentator and contributor on the future of technology, media and communications. His articles have been published in Adweek, Harvard Business Review, TechCrunch and VentureBeat.

Prior to joining Bateman Group, Bill was vice president of marketing for a media startup, where he led all marketing, licensing and distribution strategy around the company’s filmed entertainment properties. Before that, he managed product PR and corporate communications for some of the Internet’s pioneering brands, including AOL and Netscape, while working at A Good Seed Production, Blanc and Otus and Niehaus Ryan Wong.

Bill began his career in public health, directing a federally funded nonprofit program for several years before being appointed to serve as a Special Assistant to San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown Jr. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Education Fund.

Bill lives in San Francisco with his wife, Kate, and their sons Ben and Sebastian.

He graduated from St. Lawrence University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and writing.
