Kurt Allen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Kurt began their career at Hyatt Regency Chicago, where they held various roles from 1985 to 1989. Kurt then worked at Pebble Beach Company in various positions from 1989 to 2000. Kurt then worked at Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows as Director of Rooms & Revenue Management and Assistant Director of Sales from 2000 to 2002. Kurt later became the General Manager at Dolphin Quest Hawaii from 2002 to 2005. From 2006 to 2008, Kurt served as the Director of Sales & Marketing at Carmel Valley Ranch. Kurt then joined Portola Hotel & Spa as the Director of Sales & Marketing in 2008. From 2008 to 2017, Kurt was the Vice President & General Manager at Marineland Dolphin Adventure. Currently, they are serving as the President & Chief Executive Officer of Mississippi Aquarium, a position they have held since 2020. Throughout their career, Kurt has demonstrated strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a passion for preserving and protecting marine life.
Kurt Allen obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Restaurant, Hotel & Institutional Management with a Business Emphasis from Purdue University. Kurt attended the university from 1983 to 1987.

Mississippi Aquarium will tell the incredible story of all of Mississippi's aquatic resources from the Delta to the coastline and the remarkable connection that ties all of the state's natural resources uniquely together. Featuring the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and beyond, the roaring waters of the mighty Mississippi River and the wetlands and marshes of the tranquil bayous, the story of Mississippi's natural resources had never been told in this extraordinary way. The Aquarium understands that living in Mississippi is about the outdoor experience and the relationships of its people. Mississippi Aquarium represents education, conservation and community. The Aquarium will provide visitors many opportunities to be entertained and fully immersed in the aquatic wonder that Mississippi has to offer.
