Matthew Grice

VP, Treasurer & CFO at Mississippi Power Co

Matthew Grice began serving as Mississippi Power’s Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer on March 1, 2023, following election by the board of directors. He is responsible for the Finance, Accounting, Regulatory Affairs and Rates departments.

Grice previously worked as Comptroller since 2020 as led the company’s accounting functions, including supporting regulatory proceedings, organizational initiatives, process improvement efforts and external financial reporting.

The board elected Grice to the position of Assistant Treasurer in 2018 and he also served as Finance Director. In these roles, he was responsible for leading the treasury function, directing the financial planning and budget departments, and leading the company’s overall finance activities.

He joined Mississippi Power in 2004 after working for a Big Four accounting firm in Washington, D.C. He started his career as a financial analyst and has held positions of increasing responsibility in finance and accounting.

Grice is a recognized business and community leader, serving as a board member of the Mississippi Aquarium, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation and Leadership Gulf Coast. He previously was president of the boards of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce and Lynn Meadows Discovery Center. He has been named a Top 10 Business Leader Under 40 and is a graduate of Leadership Gulf Coast.

Grice holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
