Art Shirley

Art Shirley currently serves as the Interim Head of Agricultural Communications at Mississippi State University Extension Service, a position held since May 2024. In this role, Art provides strategic communications leadership, consultation, and services to enhance audience education and engagement. Art has been with Mississippi State University since June 2015, initially as Web Communications Manager and later as Web Communications and Graphic Design Manager. Previous experience includes positions as Creative Director-Design at Tellos Creative, Creative Director at Quest Group, and Graphic Designer/Editor at Mossy Oak/Haas Outdoors, where responsibilities included graphic identity and printed material design. Art's career began as a Designer at Screen Graphics, followed by a role as Graphic Designer/Print Shop Manager at Bryan Foods. Art holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi, awarded between 1980 and 1984.
