Jody Sowell

Jody Sowell currently serves as the President and CEO of the Missouri Historical Society, a position held since 2009, with previous roles including Managing Director of Public History, Director of Exhibitions and Research, and Public Historian within the same organization. Additionally, Jody Sowell is an Adjunct Professor at Saint Louis University since 2004. Prior experience includes serving as an Oral Historian for the Missouri Historical Society from 2006 to 2008, City Editor at the Columbia Missourian from 1998 to 2003, Assistant Professor of Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1998 to 2003, and Reporter for The Dallas Morning News from 1994 to 1996. Academic qualifications consist of a PhD in American Studies from Saint Louis University, an MA in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a BA in Journalism from Southern Methodist University.
