Phillip Dowden

Phillip Dowden serves as the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations at Evangel University since July 2016, overseeing media relations, marketing, advertising, and events for 16 varsity sports. Phillip's role includes coordinating with various departments to enhance athletics’ visibility and implementing significant initiatives such as the Hall of Fame banquet and the Athlete of the Year Award. Dowden's extensive experience in sports media relations is highlighted by previous positions at Oral Roberts University, Southwestern University, and Northwest Missouri State University, where Phillip developed media strategies, managed sports communications, and contributed to successful athletic programs. Dowden also volunteers for the Missouri State High School Activities Association and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Missouri Southern State University.
