Matt Walker, CAE has over 20 years of work experience in various IT roles. Matt started their career as a Support Technician at Union University in 1999. From 2001 to 2004, they worked as an IT Support/Web Administrator at the Missouri School Boards' Association, where they were responsible for end-user support, server administration, network administration, and AD/Exchange administration. In 2001, they briefly worked as a Web Programmer at MBS Direct. Since 2004, they have been serving as the Director of Information Technology at the Missouri State Teachers Association, where they have a wide range of responsibilities including CIO/CTO duties and traditional Systems Administrator tasks.
Matt Walker, CAE obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Union University, which they attended from 1995 to 1998. Prior to that, they studied Computer Science at Southeast Missouri State University from 1994 to 1995. In 1992 to 1993, they pursued General Studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia. In 2016, Matt Walker obtained the certification of Certified Association Executive.

MSTA serves more than 44,000 educators and is dedicated to educating the state's children.
