Jimi Okelana

Jimi Okelana has over 10 years of work experience in design and UX roles. Jimi began their career in 2011 as a UX Designer at COBO Design. In 2015, they became a Designer at VIVITA, Inc. and a Concept Designer at Water Design. In 2016, they were a UX Consultant at Nikon. In 2017, they were a Design Lead (Project Based) at Adgo and a Creative Director - Community Partner at Mistletoe, Inc. In 2018, they founded and became the CEO of ON-1, Inc. In 2019, they were the Creative Director at Machine Learning Tokyo and the Content Creation Lead/Senior Creative at EDGEof, Inc. Currently, they are the Chief Design Officer at STANDAGE LTD, where they are designing digital transformation solutions to accelerate global trade with emerging markets, with a focus on business between Japan and Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa.

Jimi Okelana has an extensive educational background. In 2004, they completed a Bachelor's Degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Industrial and Product Design. In 2005, they attended a Summer Session at Virginia Commonwealth University for a Communication Design Course. In 2008, they were a Research Student at Nagoya Zokei University for Product Design. Finally, from 2014 to 2016, they earned a Master's Degree from Keio University in Media Design, and was also a part of the Dean's List and received the Shoshu title.
