Derek Borrel

Derek Borrel is a highly skilled Senior Inspector with extensive experience in mechanical integrity and inspection activities across various oil and gas facilities. Currently serving at MISTRAS Group, Inc. since June 2020, Derek leads inspection efforts in support of a client Unit Inspector at Hilcorp Energy Alaska's Prudhoe Bay Oilfield. Previous roles include Senior API Inspector at Versa Integrity Group, performing inspections for Formosa Plastics, and various turnaround inspection positions at IRISNDT, supervising and executing visual inspections at multiple refineries. Derek's career also includes significant roles with Sentinel Integrity Solutions, Shawcor Inspection Systems, and Mistras Group Ltd, where responsibilities ranged from coordinating inspection programs to performing detailed inspections on critical process equipment. Derek holds a high school diploma from Sulphur High School, graduated in 1995.
