Shakiba Kaveh

Shakiba Kaveh is an experienced professional with a diverse background in various industries. In 2015, they worked as a Research Scientist at L'Oréal, specifically focusing on building the My Skin Track UV for L'Oreal Beauty Incubator. Shakiba then transitioned to a role as a Management Consultant at Efficio, where they worked from 2015 to 2017. Following this, Shakiba joined Polymer Golpayegan as an International Sales professional, where they worked from 2017 to 2019.

In 2019, Shakiba joined Entrepreneur First as a Cohort Member, participating in their accelerator program. This program focuses on building tech startups from scratch, emphasizing innovation and entrepreneurship. Their time at Entrepreneur First lasted from October 2019 to February 2020.

In 2020, Shakiba embarked on a new venture as the Co-Founder and CEO of Mitra Bio. This company is dedicated to developing a platform for skin longevity through non-invasive skin sampling, utilizing next-generation sequencing and advanced data science. Mitra Bio has received notable recognition and support, including being backed by Entrepreneur First, Illumina Accelerator, and Oxford University Foundry. They were awarded the Biomedical Catalyst grant from Innovate UK for the development of their non-invasive skin diagnosis platform.

Shakiba's professional journey continued in 2021 when they joined Oxford Foundry as an Entrepreneur in Residence. Shakiba was selected for the OXFO Elevate accelerator, a six-month program supporting pre-Seed and Seed stage companies affiliated with the University of Oxford to scale their ventures. Oxford Foundry has a successful track record, with their portfolio ventures having raised over £50 million, created over 200 jobs worldwide, and valued at over £150 million, making a positive impact across various sectors.

Shakiba Kaveh pursued their education in Materials Science, starting with a Bachelor's degree in the field from Imperial College London. Shakiba completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) at the same institution between the years 2006 and 2010. Shakiba then proceeded to further their knowledge by enrolling in the University of Cambridge, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science from 2011 to 2014.
