Brian Goode

Brian Goode is a Principal Modeling & Simulation Engineer at MITRE, a position held since August 2020. Prior to this, Brian was a Principal Consultant at Goode Technical Services, LLC, and held research scientist roles at the Biocomplexity Institute of Virginia Tech and the Discovery Analytics Center at Virginia Tech. Brian's research interests include deep learning, metaphor usage analysis in blogs for event detection, and survival probability of protest events. With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, evidenced by a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, and an undergraduate certificate in meteorology from Penn State World Campus, Brian has a diverse background including experience as a logistics engineer and English teacher, as well as research and teaching roles throughout academia.
