Derek Anderson

Derek Anderson is a Principal Information Security Scientist at MITRE, where responsibilities include ensuring systems operate securely. Previously, Derek served as a Senior Security Analyst at Symantec, focusing on complex security challenges for enterprise clients and enhancing detection capabilities against threats like the Zeus and Spyeye botnets. Earlier roles include Security Analyst at Symantec, where Derek monitored real-time security events and contributed to signature creation for detecting malware. Derek also worked as an R&D Lab Contractor at National Public Radio, writing Perl scripts for HD Radio projects and co-authoring a security paper, and as a Help Desk Analyst at AXA, assisting a large user transition to newer operating systems.
