Justin Brunelle currently serves as Chief Scientist and Principal Researcher at MITRE, a role focused on web crawling, emerging technologies adoption, and technology-focused innovation in government. Brunelle has been with MITRE since February 2010 and coordinates the IR&D efforts within the Software Engineering Innovation Center of MITRE Labs. In addition, Brunelle taught graduate-level Web Programming as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Old Dominion University from August 2016 to December 2019 and has previous experience as Lead Developer for the iSTART Project from 2003 to 2010. Brunelle also instructed ModSim and web development courses at Tidewater Community College during July 2008 to August 2009. Educationally, Brunelle earned a PhD and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University, completing the PhD in 2016.
