Robert Avjian

Principal Aviation Systems Engineer

Robert Avjian is a highly experienced aviation systems engineer with a robust background in weather integration into air traffic management decision support tools. Currently serving as Principal Aviation Systems Engineer at MITRE since March 2016, Robert focuses on systems engineering and architecture for NextGen advanced concept development. Prior experience includes serving as ATC Weather Systems Architect at General Dynamics, where Robert led technical solutions for FAA NextGen and NOAA weather system acquisitions. A former Senior Member Technical Staff at Lockheed Martin, Robert was a certified Advanced Information Systems Architect and contributed significantly to systems engineering for various air traffic management initiatives. Additionally, Robert was an Adjunct Faculty Member at Johns Hopkins University, teaching Systems Engineering. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boston University.
