Tim Welsh

Tim Welsh is a seasoned professional in the field of artificial intelligence and research, currently serving as a Principal AI Researcher at MITRE since July 2014, with a focus on innovative strategies for wildland firefighting through agent-based modeling and operational data. Previously, Tim has held positions as a Lead AI Researcher and Lead Computer Scientist at the same organization, where a significant project involved machine intelligence-based research. Academic experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at Stanford University, where cost-effective fabrication techniques were developed for SDOCT experiments, and at the University of San Diego, managing research projects related to superconducting tubes and plasma behavior. Tim holds a B.S./B.A. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics, both from the University of San Diego.
