Vanessa L. is a creative entrepreneur and service designer, currently serving as the Founder and Editor of Tomatokind, where they connect small-business owners and creatives through storytelling and live events. They previously held roles at notable organizations such as Mending Kids, where they evaluated medical technologies, and the Mayo Clinic, where they worked as a Service Designer. Vanessa has also contributed to the field of public health as a Senior Public Health Scientist at MITRE, strengthening human-centered design practices and advocating for underserved populations. They earned a B.S. in Public Policy from the University of Southern California and a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington.
