Matt Smithson

Matt Smithson is Vice President of Engineering at the Heating and Air Conditioning Division of Mitsubishi Electric US Inc. (MEUS). Originally a founding member of the division’s Controls Engineering department, he now leads the Solutions Development Center, including product development, testing, compliance, and quality assurance initiatives.

Smithson’s primary responsibilities include the creation, advancement and execution of the organization’s product development strategy as well as long-term strategic capital and human resource planning. His key contributions include early recognition and mitigation of product development risks and ensuring that development activities are aligned with manufacturing, sales, applications, and service departments.
