J. Cory Nielsen

J. Cory Nielsen currently serves as Executive Vice President & General Counsel at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries since October 2022. Prior to this role, J. Cory Nielsen was General Counsel at MHI Shared Services Americas, Inc. from October 2016 to October 2022, where responsibilities included establishing and leading a combined legal department for MHI companies in the Americas, managing a team of 17 legal professionals, and supporting senior management across various legal disciplines. J. Cory Nielsen has also held roles such as General Counsel at PW Power Systems and Legal Counsel at International Aero Engines, with a strong focus on international commercial contracts, corporate governance, and compliance issues. Earlier legal experience includes an associate attorney position at Tyler Cooper & Alcorn and teaching Spanish language and Latin American culture at the LDS Missionary Training Center. Academic achievements include a Juris Doctor with high honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law and a BA in International Relations from Brigham Young University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
