Marco Iotti has a long and varied work experience. Marco started their career in 2015 as the CEO & Founder of Altrove Innovation. In 2016, they took on the role of Mixfit CTO & CSO at DSM, which was acquired by DSM. Marco also held the role of Faculty/Professor in Food Systems at the Food Innovation Program from 2015 to 2021. From 2012 to 2021, they worked at Nestle S.A. as Open Innovation Strategist. Business Development and Senior Project Manager STC (Nespresso, Dolcegusto, Special T, others..). In 2021, they became an Entrepreneur In Residence - Agri-Tech and Food-Tech at MassChallenge Switzerland. In 2022, they became Co-Founder at Bioloopers Inc., Technical Lead at Bluana Foods, Senior corporate finance, governance and marketing advisor at BioLumen Inc., and PIOneer at PIO. Additionally, they held the role of Visiting Professor in Personalized Nutrition at Yunnan Agricultural University.
Marco Iotti has a diverse educational background. Marco obtained a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia in 2002. Marco then went on to receive a Master of Science in Food Science and Technology from the same institution in 2004. In 2008, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia. In 2013 and 2014, they completed two Master of Business Administration degrees, one from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) and one from HEC Lausanne - The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne. In 2014, they also obtained a certification in Doing Business in China from Peking University in Beijing.
