Jacob Ehnmark

Jacob Ehnmark has a strong background in software engineering and technology, with a focus on trading systems and financial technology. Jacob is currently working as a Vice President at Mizuho, where they lead a strategic project to build a new trading system. Jacob'sresponsibilities include business analysis, DevOps automation, Openshift migration, Prometheus metrics, and trading performance analysis.

Prior to Mizuho, Jacob worked at bitFlyer Group as a Software Engineer and Manager. During their time there, they spearheaded the migration to Kubernetes and championed the use of Terraform. Jacob also replaced a database-centric monolith with cloud-native microservices connected to an event bus.

Before bitFlyer, Jacob held the position of Vice President at Nomura Securities, where they worked for eight years. At Barclays Capital, they served as a RAD Developer in Equity Derivatives Technology, designing and building various systems used by multiple desks across regions.

In the earlier stages of their career, Jacob worked as a Front Office Developer at KBC Financial Products. Jacob also worked as a Researcher at Tohoku University in Japan, where they focused on the research and development of visualization paradigms and tools for networked information systems and received a Monbukagakusho research scholarship from the Japanese government.

Jacob Ehnmark obtained an M.Sc in Computing Science from Umeå University, from 1999 to 2004. In addition, they were an exchange student at Tohoku University from 2002 to 2003, studying Japanese, Japanese Culture, and Computer Science. Jacob also received certification as a Class-1 Sales Representative from JSDA in 2020.
