Joseph Catanzaro

Joseph Catanzaro is an experienced finance professional specializing in biotechnology equity analysis. Currently serving as Executive Director and Senior Biotech Equity Analyst at Mizuho since August 2025, Joseph previously held the position of Director and Senior Biotech Equity Analyst at Piper Sandler from July 2018 to May 2025. Joseph commenced a career in biotech equity research as a Biotech Equity Research Associate at Cowen and Company from August 2014 to July 2018, and earlier contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at Stony Brook University from August 2008 to May 2014. Joseph holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Genetics from Stony Brook University, completed in 2014, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from Binghamton University, obtained in 2008.
