Claire Bickley has a diverse work experience starting in 2003. Claire started as a Key Worker at The Shelter Trust, where they provided support and case work for residential clients. In 2005, they worked as a Homeless Worker at The Auckland City Mission, specializing in the Homelessness Action Plan and developing initiatives for homeless individuals. Next, they joined The Child Cancer Foundation in 2008 as a Family Support Coordinator, providing counseling and resource support to families affected by pediatric oncology. From 2011 to 2012, Claire worked as a PR and Events Support at Waterstones, handling event administration and press-related tasks. Claire then joined HS2 Ltd in 2012 as a Learning and Development Coordinator, where they facilitated staff development and coordinated an induction program. In 2013, Claire became the Family Support Manager at The Rainbow Trust, responsible for establishing and developing a new team. Most recently, since 2020, Claire has been working at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, starting as an Area Support Coordinator, then Senior Area Support Coordinator, and currently as the Head of Regional Care Partnerships.

Claire Bickley started their education journey in 2003 at Highlands College, Jersey, where they obtained a Counselling Certificate. Claire then attended Te Kaiawhina Ahumani from 2006 to 2009, earning a NZQA diploma in Social Work. More recently, in 2015-2016, Claire studied Outstanding Leadership at Cass Business School.
