Associate Director Biology - Target Discovery & Validation at Mnemo Therapeutics

Nil Ege, PhD has a wealth of work experience. In 2021, they began their role as Principal Scientist at Mnemo Therapeutics. From 2018-2021, they were a Drug Discovery Scientist at The Institute of Cancer Research, working on multidisciplinary drug discovery projects. From 2016-2018, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at UCL, where they developed their leadership skills by supervising an undergraduate student for 6 months. From 2015-2016, they were a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at The Francis Crick Institute, where they were part of the MULTIMOT EU funded project. From 2011-2015, they were a PhD Student at Cancer Research UK, where they worked on the regulation and function of YAP1 in normal and cancer-associated fibroblasts. In 2010, they were a Research Intern at Cancer Research UK, where they worked on the role of stromal fibroblasts in promoting breast cancer cells invasion. Also in 2010, they were a Research Intern at University of California San Diego, where they worked on the role of CD98 heavy chain in T cell migration. In 2009, they were a Research Intern at University of Oxford, where they worked on the characterisation of a new protein (THEMIS) involved in TCR signalling. In 2006, they were a Summer Student at the Weizmann Institute of Science, where they were selected to participate in a program organised for international high school students.

Nil Ege, PhD began their educational journey in 2006, attending Lycée Jean Rostand in Strasbourg, France, where they completed a Classe préparatoire BCPST. Nil then went on to attend Ecole normale supérieure from 2008 to 2011, where they earned a Master's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology. In 2010, they attended Pierre and Marie Curie University, where they received a Master's degree in the same field. From 2011 to 2015, they attended UCL, earning a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Cancer Biology - Dr Erik Sahai's Laboratory at the LRI | Now part of The Francis Crick Institute.
