Cathy Gouveia has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Cathy started their career in 1994 as a Quality Control Assistant at GSK, where they performed analytical testing and was responsible for batch approvals. In 2000, they worked as a College Tutor at the University of Oxford, tutoring first-year medical and physiology students.
From 2001 to 2014, Cathy worked at ProImmune Ltd, initially as a Research Scientist and later as the Director of Product Development and Director of Platform Technologies. Cathy'sresponsibilities included managing the Research and Development Department, developing new products and services in T and B cell epitope discovery, and supervising the REVEAL® services team.
In 2014, they joined the University of Oxford again, first as a Facility Manager in Experimental Psychology and then as a Health and Safety Officer. In these roles, they managed a research facility, provided strategic and operational advice, ensured departmental compliance with health and safety policies, and liaised with external agencies.
Cathy then joined Cytome Technologies in 2015 as an Operations Director, overseeing the development of protein characterisation assays for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic clients. Cathy utilized their expertise in modern mass spectrometry-based proteomics and advanced computer algorithms.
In 2017, they joined Adaptimmune as a Portfolio Manager and Project Manager. Cathy'sresponsibilities included providing strategic leadership and operational management to projects within the global portfolio, including research projects, candidate selection, platform and translational research, partnership and alliance clinical programs, and budget/resource planning. Cathy also conducted risk analysis and prepared project plans and reports.
Currently, Cathy is working at MoA Technology as the Chief Operations Officer, a role they took on in July 2021. Prior to this position, they served as the Portfolio and Collaboration Manager from September 2019 until their promotion. Cathy'sresponsibilities in MoA Technology include overseeing the company's operations and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Throughout their career, Cathy has demonstrated a strong background in operations, project management, strategic leadership, and scientific research.
Cathy Gouveia's education history begins with their studies at the University of Oxford. From 1994 to 1998, they pursued a degree in Biochemistry, obtaining an MBiochem. Continuing their academic journey, Cathy then enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford from 1998 to 2001.
In addition to their formal education, Cathy has also obtained several certifications. In February 2016, they completed the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH. Later, in June 2018, they acquired the First Aid at Work certification from the British Red Cross. More recently, in November 2020, Cathy completed the PRINCE2® Foundation Certification Training and PRINCE2® Foundation CPD from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
