Johann Jungwirth

VP, Mobility-as-a-Service at Mobileye

Johann Jungwirth (JJ) joined Mobileye in August 2019 from Volkswagen Group. He is responsible for the global deployment and rollout of Mobileye’s Mobility-as-a-Service business based on self-driving vehicles.

As an automotive industry veteran, Jungwirth is particularly excited about Mobileye’s robotaxi business prospects and leveraging the company’s advanced AV platform for complete mobility solutions. His team will develop the company’s MaaS scale-out strategy globally, the vehicle programs, fleet operations, as well as development and deployment of the mobility platform and services.

Before joining Mobileye, Jungwirth held engineering leadership roles at some of the world’s biggest automakers including Volkswagen Group and Mercedes-Benz/Daimler. He has been working on self-driving vehicle programs for 10 years and strongly believes that we can make this world a better place with mobility solutions based on self-driving vehicles, which will make transportation safer, more accessible, more convenient and more affordable.

Jungwirth received a Diploma Degree in electrical engineering with a focus on automation and robotics from Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Germany in 1997. He also attended executive leadership programs at the Wharton Business School co-designed with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Outside of work, Jungwirth enjoys traveling and is particularly attracted to coastal areas as he likes the ocean and snorkeling. He is married and has four children.
