Neal Shaw

Neal Shaw is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Mobilize Solutions. Neal has held this position since August of 2017. Prior to that, they were the Chief Technology Officer at Xceligent from January 2015 to August 2017.

Neal has over 20 years of experience in technology leadership roles. Neal spent 18 years at H&R Block, from June 1994 to May 2012, where they ultimately became the VP, Chief Architect. In this role, they led the Architecture & Integration group, which was responsible for system architecture across all H&R Block applications and systems. This included customer-facing applications such as TaxCut Software and hrblock.com, as well as back-end transactional systems and technologies used in H&R Block's data center and field operations.

During their time at H&R Block, Neal was responsible for the conception, creation, evolution and adoption of a new virtualized SOA-based platform that served as the core application infrastructure for H&R Block. This platform reduced redundancy and enabled reuse of core plumbing across the company's various applications and systems. Neal also led the creation of new consumer-facing Rich Internet Applications using Flash and open source video streaming technologies, which provided a more immersive and cinematic customer experience and led to improved retention and new customer acquisition. In addition, Neal led the implementation of several open source technologies aimed at increasing capabilities while leveraging a more cost-effective model.

Neal's team was distributed across multiple locations, including off-shore groups in India and Russia, as well as a core team in Kansas City and distributed architects in San Diego, CA, Cambridge, MA and Columbus, OH. Under Neal's leadership, the team received the CIO award for Top 100 "Most Innovative IT Groups."

Some of the technologies Neal has worked with include C#.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, C++, Java, Oracle, Linux/Windows, VMWare, WYSE Desktop Streaming, Wowza Media Streaming Server, Spring Source, Sugar CRM, Active MQ, Camel, PeopleSoft, FileNet, Adobe Flex / Flash, Silverlight, and Tibco Enterprise Message Bus.

Neal Shaw completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Information Technology at UC San Diego.
