Daniel Wei-Chen Hong

Daniel Wei-Chen Hong has a wealth of experience in healthcare, medical device, and speaking. In 2001, they began their neurosurgical residency at National Taiwan University Hospital and later became a Neurosurgeon there. In 2010, they were a Visiting Scholar at the Stanford Taiwan Biomedical Fellowship Program and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Stanford University, where they conducted research at the neurosurgery department and wrote Chapter 14. Nonvestibular Schwannoma at the CyberKnife Stereotactic Radiosurgery: Brain. Volume 1 book. In 2011, they became Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of CompactCath, a company designing the smallest urinary catheter in the world. During their time there, the company was FDA cleared, issued 3 patents, and raised funding from med-device angels including Stanford-StartX fund. In 2012, they were a Speaker at the Aspen Ideas Festival. In 2014, they Co-Founded MOCA CARE. In 2017, they were an Invited Speaker at the 2017 US Taiwan High-tech Forum.

Daniel Wei-Chen Hong attended Kaohsiung Medical University from 1992 to 1999, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medicine. Daniel Wei-Chen then attended National Taiwan University from 2009 to 2013, studying Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. Daniel Wei-Chen also attended Stanford University from 2010 to 2012.
