Rubén Darío Flores Saaib

Rubén Darío Flores Saaib is a Licensing Advisor at Model Medicines. Rubén has over two decades of experience in technology licensing and commercialization, and has been a Co-Founder and Board Member of the San Diego Innovation Council since 2016.

Rubén Darío Flores Saaib began their career in technology licensing and commercialization at the University of Southern California in April 2019. In their role as Associate Director of Technology Licensing, they manage a team of Licensing Associates who focus on commercializing the innovations created on campus for the benefit of society. The team's areas of focus include software, the creative arts, social studies, materials, medical devices, telecommunications, entertainment, renewable and alternative energy, biologicals therapeutics and bioengineering.

In December 2016, Rubén Darío Flores Saaib co-founded the San Diego Innovation Council (SDIC), which convenes the region's premier research-intensive academic centers, along with the organizations that support academic derived inventions. The SDIC promotes a shared vision for growth through innovation, entrepreneurial activities, and education. Through quarterly meetings and an annual Innovation Showcase, the SDIC aims to reinforce and enhance the economic impact of the greater San Diego region.

Rubén Darío Flores Saaib has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. Rubén also has certification from VC University in VC University Online, LinkedIn in Negotiating the Nonnegotiable (Blinkist Summary), the Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. and Canada), Inc., and Certified Licensing Professionals, Inc.
