Amit Goyal

Director of Technology (Hydrogen) at Modern Electron

Amit Goyal has a long and varied professional career. Amit began as a Research Assistant at the Department of Chemistry & Env. Sc, NJIT, NJ USA in 2002. In 2006, they took on an Academic Guest role at ETH-Zurich. In 2007, they returned to the Department of Chemistry & Env. Sc, NJIT, NJ USA as a Research Scientist. In 2008, they became a Senior Research Engineer at Exelus Inc. In 2013, they joined Southern Research as a Program Manager - Sustainable Chemistry and Catalysis, and eventually rose to the role of Director-Sustainable Chemistry & Catalysis. Most recently, in 2021, they began their role as Director of Technology (Hydrogen) at Modern Electron. During their time at Southern Research, Amit Goyal was responsible for leading a dynamic group of researchers and achieved key accomplishments in the development of heterogeneous catalysts for thermo-catalytic conversion of biomass, coal and natural gas to fuels and chemical products.

Amit Goyal obtained their High School diploma from Maheshwari Public School between 1988 and 1995. Amit then went on to earn their BE in Chemical Engineering from Manipal Academy of Higher Education between 1996 and 2000. Following this, Goyal obtained their MS in Chemical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology between 2001 and 2003. Lastly, they completed their Ph.D in Chemical/Materials Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology between 2003 and 2007.
