Scientific Founder at Modern Meadow

Gabor Forgacs has significant work experience in the fields of bioprinting, tissue engineering, and scientific research. Gabor is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Fork & Good, Inc. since 2018, where they focus on scientific advancements in the field. Previously, they were the Scientific Founder of Modern Meadow, Inc., founded in 2011, which specializes in the development of animal products without the need for animal slaughter. Gabor also served as the Scientific Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Organovo, Inc., the first commercial bioprinting company, from 2007 to 2011. Gabor has held distinguished professor roles at Clarskon University and the University of Missouri-Columbia, specializing in physics and biological physics, respectively. Gabor has also worked as a Senior Scientist at various research facilities, including the French Atomic Energy Agency and the Central Research Institute for Physics. In addition, they served as the Scientific Director of the Shipley Center for Innovation.

Gabor Forgacs obtained their MS in physics from Eötvös Loránd University between 1967 and 1972. Gabor then pursued a PhD in Theoretical Physics at the same university from 1972 to 1976. After completing their doctoral program, from 1978 to 1979, Forgacs worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University at Albany, SUNY. Gabor then served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1979 to 1981. Later, in 1992, they attended Marine Biological Laboratory Woods Hole to study Embryology and Developmental Biology.
