Isaac Hiorns has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Isaac started their career at Alcoa as a Materials Specialist, where they researched manufacturing techniques and designed a more refined method for hand forged steel rings. Isaac then worked as a Research Assistant at The University of Sheffield, fabricating and assessing doped samples. Isaac later became self-employed as a Photographer before joining Wilson Benesch as a Design Engineer. In this role, they produced CAD models and drawings, contributed to new product development, and gained experience in DfM across additive and machining technologies. Most recently, Isaac worked at ARRIVAL as a Process Design and Innovation Engineer, project managing the development of a large format additive manufacturing system and implementing a novel design approach for manufacturing jigs and fixtures. Isaac is currently employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Modern Synthesis.
Isaac Hiorns attended Sheldon secondary school from 2006 to 2013. Isaac did not obtain a degree or specialized in any field during this time.
Subsequently, Isaac pursued higher education at The University of Sheffield from 2013 to 2017, where they completed a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
