José Luis Vivar has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. From 1995 to 1998, they worked at Claro Ecuador as the Treasury & Financial Planning Manager and later as the Deputy Controller. In 2001, they joined the Coca-Cola Company and held several CFO positions, including the Andean Region, Venezuela & The Caribbean Region, and ToniCorp and Subsidiaries. In 2003, they served as the Commercial Finance & Planning Manager for the North Andean Region and later for Ecuador. In 2006, they became the CFO of Moderna Alimentos S.A, a leading Ecuadorian company in the food industry. Additionally, they have held roles in other organizations such as Quala S.A., where they were the CFO for a brief period in 2018, and MerchantBansa S.A. / MerchantValores Casa de Valores S.A., where they worked as a Project Finance Specialist. José Luis Vivar also has experience in academia, serving as a Professor of Corporate Finance at Colegio de Estudios Superiores en Administración, CESA in 2010. Recently, they have become a member of REF since 2021.

José Luis Vivar has a Master's degree in Finance from EGADE Business School del Tecnológico de Monterrey. José Luis has also completed executive education programs in Strategy, Negotiation, and Finance from The Wharton School. Additionally, they have an executive education program certification in Advanced Management from INCAE Business School.
