Theodore Rooney

Theodore Rooney is an accomplished finance professional currently serving as an Investment Banking Associate in the Financial Institutions Group at Moelis & Company since July 2023. Prior to this role, Theodore spent seven years at Vanguard, where responsibilities included leading a 15-person team in evaluating direct indexing in the investment product strategy sector, as well as overseeing major initiatives in the development of non-transparent active ETF structures and risk-reward frameworks. Theodore has a robust background in fiduciary oversight of substantial investment portfolios, having managed $500 billion of active equity and municipal bond funds. An MBA holder from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colby College, Theodore has demonstrated strong leadership and innovation throughout a diverse career in investment strategy and analysis.
