Owen Rackham

Owen Rackham is currently the Theme Lead for Cell and Molecular Medicine at The Alan Turing Institute, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they were an Associate Professor in Systems Biology at the University of Southampton from 2020. From 2015 to 2020, they were an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor, and Senior Research Fellow at Duke-NUS Medical School. In 2016, they were a Co-founder of Mogrify. From 2013 to 2016, they were a MRC Career Development Fellow at Imperial College London. From 2007 to 2010, they were a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Computational Genomics, PhD researcher, Mathematical Helpdesk Consultant, and Masters in Complexitiy Sciences at the University of Bristol. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Scientific Public Engagement for STEMNET and a JSPS Post-doctoral Fellow for RIKEN. In 2010, they were a NOISEmaker for EPSRC. From 2005 to 2007, they were an Operations Analyst for Natures Way Foods.

Owen Rackham obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computational Biology from the University of Bristol from 2008 to 2013. Owen also obtained a MRes in Complexity Sciences from the University of Bristol from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained an MSc in Natural Computation from the University of Birmingham from 2006 to 2007. Owen's educational history began at the University of Exeter, where they obtained a BSc in Computer Science from 2002 to 2005.
