Héctor García has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Héctor began their career in 2007 as the Founder and CEO of Geographica, a company focused on GIS, data science, smart cities, maps, and sci-fi. Héctor held this role until May 2019 when Geographica became a part of CARTO. From 2019 to the present, Héctor worked at CARTO as a Geographer and Investor. In 2018, they also took on the role of Investor at Habichuelas Ventures, where they invested in seed-stage startups primarily in Andalucía and Madrid, providing both funding and mentorship. Currently, they serve as the Co-Founder of MOGU Platform, a position they have held since May 2020.
Héctor García completed their education with a Licenciado degree in Geografía from Universidad de Sevilla, from the year 1997 to 2002. Later, they pursued a Master en Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) in Geographic Information System (GIS) from Instituto Cibernos, from 2001 to 2002. Lastly, in the year 2015 to 2016, they obtained an Executive MBA degree from IE Business School.
