Sadie Watson is an accomplished archaeologist with extensive experience in urban archaeology, particularly in London. Currently serving as an Honorary Research Associate at the University of York Department of Archaeology since January 2024, Sadie also holds the title of Research Fellow at MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) with the UKRI and AHRC, focusing on the Public Benefit in Archaeology through a Future Leader Fellowship since September 2019. With a career at MOLA beginning in 1998, Sadie has progressed to Site Director, overseeing major projects and large field teams, while possessing significant expertise in excavating complex multi-period sites, including medieval and Roman contexts. Educational credentials include a PhD in Applied Archaeology from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, an MA in Archaeology and Heritage from the University of Leicester, and a BSc (Hons) in Heritage Conservation from Bournemouth University.
