Weitao Chen started their work experience in 1998 as a Research Associate at the Institute of Microbiology, CAS. From 2002 to 2008, they worked as a Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2008, they joined UCSF as a Postdoctoral Fellow, and later became an Associate Specialist from 2014 to 2016. Since 2016, they have been working at Molecular Devices as an Application Scientist, providing technical support for drug discovery platforms and applications.
Weitao Chen obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Microbiology, General from Shandong University, China from 1994 to 1998. After that, from 1998 to 2001, Chen pursued a Master's degree in Microbiology at the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Finally, Chen earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they attended from 2002 to 2008.
In addition, Chen received an edX Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python from edX in March 2015.
