Lorena Vega Hernández

Lorena Vega Hernández is an accomplished professional in the field of intellectual property and biotechnology, currently serving as the Director European Patent Attorney at Molecular Partners since March 2025, while also representing Spain on the Committee on Biotechnological Inventions for epi since October 2023. Previous experiences include roles as a European Patent Attorney and Patent Specialist at ClarkeModet from October 2017 to February 2025 and as a Patent Specialist at Manuel Illescas y Asociados, S.L. from June 2014 to September 2017. Lorena started their career in laboratory management as the Head of Laboratory at VLPbio, where responsibilities included developing experimental techniques and managing laboratory operations. Prior roles also encompassed being a Scientist at Cruces Universitary Hospital, specializing in molecular genetics, and undertaking research projects at the University of Liverpool and the Biochemical Microbiology Institute. Lorena holds a PhD in Microbiology and Genetics from Universidad de Salamanca and has furthered education with multiple postgraduate degrees and an Executive Master in Innovation.
