MoMA
Ben Model is a prominent producer, silent film composer, accompanist, and historian with extensive experience in the preservation and presentation of silent films. Since April 2012, Ben has served as a producer at Undercrank Productions LLC, focusing on the production and distribution of Blu-ray, DVD, and DCP of rare silent films. As a silent film composer, Ben has created and performed musical scores for various silent films and has been actively teaching at Wesleyan University since September 2015. In addition to being the archivist for the Ernie Kovacs and Edie Adams collections, Ben has provided musical accompaniment for silent film screenings at esteemed venues such as the Library of Congress, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of the Moving Image. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production and Cinema Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Ben also co-programs the Cinema Arts Centre's monthly silent film series and presides over Silent Cinema Presentations, Inc., presenting NYC's longest-running silent film showcase.
