Tunji Adeniji

Chief of Facilities & Safety Officer at MoMA

Tunji Adeniji joined The Museum of Modern Art in April 2008 as the inaugural Director of Facilities and Safety, a position that was created to enhance collaboration between MoMA’s departments of Security and Building Operations. In the spring of 2017, the Department of Visitor Engagement was moved under Mr. Adeniji’s purview, which affords him broader involvement with front-line staff functions. Subsequently, he was promoted to Chief Facilities and Safety Officer. The working relationship of the staff of this trio of departments is perhaps best reflected in their myriad interactions with visitors. Prior to joining MoMA, Mr. Adeniji was the Senior Director of Security Operations at New York University. He graduated from the City College of New York and he has been a resident of New York City for more than three decades.
