Joe James

Joe James is an experienced Application Development Engineer at Momentive Technologies, specializing in advanced coatings for Silicon Carbide (SiC) crystal growth and epitaxy, with a focus on enhancing component lifetime, reducing costs, and increasing yield and purity. As a Co-Founder of Zsense Systems, Joe played a pivotal role in commercializing patented oil condition monitoring sensors, driving market research and customer discovery efforts. Previously, Joe served as the I-Corps Entrepreneurial Lead for oil condition monitoring technology commercialization, leading extensive customer interviews and developing value propositions. Joe's academic background includes postdoctoral research and a graduate research assistantship at The University of Akron, specializing in systems engineering and human factors research in collaboration with NOAA. Joe holds a PhD, a Master’s, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron, along with co-op experience at Honda R&D Americas, Inc. and Honda of America Mfg., Inc.
