Bertie Nel

Bertie Nel has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Bertie started their career as a Legal Advisor at the Industrial Development Corporation of SA Ltd. (IDC) in 1993 and then moved on to become a Legal Advisor at Old Mutual South Africa in 1995. From 1997 to 2000, they worked as a Wealth Manager at Citadel Investment Services. Bertie then joined Momentum in 2000 as a Legal BDM and later became a Wealth Manager at Fnb Private Clients in 2005. Bertie Nel returned to Momentum in 2007 and held various roles, including Legal Advisor BDM and Head of Legal Advisors. Bertie then joined Absa in 2014 as a Wealth Investment Manager (Principal). In 2017, they became the Head of Financial Planning and Advice at Momentum Consult (Pty) Ltd. Later that same year, they transitioned to the role of Head Financial Planning and Advice at Momentum.

Bertie Nel completed their matriculation degree at High School Bothaville in 1984. They then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at the University of the Free State/Universiteit van die Vrystaat from 1988 to 1991. Following this, Bertie Nel obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the same university in 1996. They also have additional certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) from The Financial Planning Institute - SA, and are compliant with FAIS RE1, RE3, and RE5 from the Financial Services Board.
