April Hoover has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in finance and accounting. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a Business Office Assistant at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, responsible for invoice and cash receipt entry, vendor file maintenance, payroll reimbursements, and daily admissions reconciliation reports. From 2010 to 2013, April served as an Accounting Clerk, overseeing A/P, A/R, journal entries, reconciliations, invoicing, payroll preparation, and month-end reporting, while also supervising part-time staff and interns. From 2013 to 2014, they took on the role of Accounting Coordinator, managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, including A/P, A/R, cash receipts, month-end activities, and payroll, while also creating a training program for managers on payroll, contracting, purchasing, and budget management. Since 2014, April has been with Mon Valley Initiative, initially serving as Controller, responsible for managing the organization's accounting, treasury, audit, internal control, and human resource management functions, along with corporate governance and regulatory compliance. In December 2017, they were promoted to Chief Financial Officer, where they advise senior management on enhancing revenue, reducing expenses, and maintaining a best-in-class financial and risk management environment.

April Hoover attended Dickinson College from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in International Business and Management. Their field of study during this time was specifically focused on International Business and Management.
