Allied Health (imaging) Research And Knowledge Translation Lead at Monash Health

Glenda McLean has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in the field of radiology and sonography. Glenda started their career as a Sonographer at I-MED Radiology Network in 1990, where they worked for 13 years. During their time at I-MED, Glenda also served as a Tutor Sonographer and gained valuable teaching experience.

In 2006, Glenda transitioned to Monash Health and took on the role of Tutor Sonographer, where they worked until 2013. During this time, they also became a Clinical Leader Sonographer, demonstrating their leadership capabilities.

Glenda's expertise in sonography led their to join the Australasian Sonographers Association in 2013. Here, they assumed the role of Editor in Chief of the Sonography journal, contributing to the development of the profession by publishing scientific articles from authors worldwide. Glenda served in this position until 2020.

In 2010, Glenda joined Monash University as a Lecturer, where they imparted their knowledge and experience to aspiring healthcare professionals. Glenda stayed at Monash University until 2017.

Recently, Glenda has taken up roles at both Monash Health and Peninsula Health as a Research and Knowledge Translation Lead in the field of Imaging and Radiology. These positions reflect their commitment to advancing research and ensuring evidence-based practices in the healthcare sector.

Glenda McLean is currently a PhD candidate pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Ultrasound at Monash University. Glenda previously earned a Master of Applied Science in Medical Ultrasound from Charles Sturt University in 2003. In 1996, they obtained a Diploma of Medical Ultrasonography from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine. Glenda began their education journey by completing a Diploma of Applied Science in Medical Radiography from RMIT University between 1979 and 1981.
